During my gap year, I briefly apprenticed with Tom from The Barn. The Barn is an antique woodworking shop housed in an old barn at the Menlo Park Allied Arts Guild. I learned how to re-cane antique chairs using cane fibers, and learned old joinery techniques and tools. I hope to build my own furniture using these skills in the future!
